Job Responsibilities:

Streck is recruiting for a Buyer to join our Production Planning team. This individual will be responsible for purchasing and ensuring optimum inventory levels of both custom and standard materials, supplies and services.  This individual will also assist the purchasing supervisor with various other tasks directly related to overall item and supplier management.

The primary responsibilities include:

  • Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Track delivery of existing orders and work with suppliers to resolve any issues
  • Maintain supplier qualification, material specification and item parameter information
  • Develop working relationships with suppliers
  • Obtain and analyze competitive quotes
  • Assist in the negotiation of prices, contract and delivery terms
  • Review and analyze item ordering parameters to optimize inventory
Job Qualifications:

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline
  • 1-2 years hands-on purchasing and inventory management experience
  • Experience with item parameters and supplier management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience using a Materials Resource Planning system strongly preferred
  • Exposure to ISO/FDA regulated work environment helpful
  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment helpful
