Job Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for supporting the infrastructure essential to end users in achieving business goals.

The incumbent will be responsible for using proven technical experience with standards, policies, practices, and procedures to provide primary support for certain infrastructure hardware and system software components while also serving as a backup (secondary) support individual to other assigned infrastructure components. This position is also responsible for performing installations, upgrades, and providing consulting assistance for assigned infrastructure components and in addition, being responsible for the pro-active monitoring and troubleshooting of assigned infrastructure components, and for assisting in the configuration, implementation, and support for the company’s IT disaster recovery plan. 

Job Qualifications:


  1. Provide support for network server hardware and operating system software needs.
  2. Perform server hardware and software installation, upgrades, and problem resolution.
  3. Responsible for system backups and recovery duties as assigned.
  4. Implement, support, and upgrade security functions, including; virus filtering, web content filtering, Spam filtering.
  5. Provide input and support in the implementation and maintenance of an effective disaster recovery plan.
  6. Utilizes monitoring and configuration tools to accomplish tasks, monitor systems performance and resolve issues.
  7. Assists in research network hardware and software issues to meet future needs.
  8. Provide secondary support and solution options for desktop hardware and software issues as needed.
  9. Monitor and maintain network security, proactively apply software patches, administer network security issues.
  10. Diagnoses and troubleshoots hardware and software issues and problems of information systems.
  11. Develop/maintain infrastructure documentation and operating procedures; provides input to policy and standards development.



  1. Bachelors Degree in Network Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related degree.
  2. Four-seven years experience providing primary support for a medium sized computing infrastructure environment.
  3. Knowledge and proven experience with a broad set of the technologies needed to maintain a computing infrastructure environment exampled by the following;
  • Network design and operational principles.
  • Network server and switch infrastructure.
  • Microsoft Systems environment.
  • Virtual environments.
  • Advanced network storage subsystems.
  • Firewall functionality and support.
  • Secure VPN user remote access environment.
